Petrol Duty has risen again!

From the 1st January 2011 the Government has added 0.76p duty per litre of fuel. This is a double whammy rise as the VAT rise on the 4th January 2011 also increased from 17.5% to 20%. There is also another duty rise planned for April 2011 too!

What does this mean in terms of money from my wallet?
This will see a 15 litre purchase (currently £18.60) costing you nearly 60p extra (47p VAT, 11p duty).
Times that by 5 to fill an average car it's an extra £3 per tank of fuel.
